Finalist, Radical Innovation in Hospitality, Worldwide Competition

Inspired by years of travel experience and observation, this roadside motel project was imagined in 2008, at the start of the great recession. weetu’s concept, the MoMotel, was a functional solution for a segment of the hospitality industry that was seemingly without remedy–the roadside hotel and motel. By providing MoMotels with an economical kit-of-parts, owners would be able to invigorate their visitor experience by updating their appearance, environment and amenities. The key component of this concept was to use permeable, graphic screen wraps to camouflage existing architecture. By focusing on sensory appeal, weetu’s goal was to make the MoMotel an easy-to-access, high- design experience for next–generation budget travelers.
